The Pimpri-Chinchwad Additional Sessions Court has granted regular bail to an accused in a case involving 142.230 grams of MD drugs, News PCMC reported. The estimated value of these drugs is ₹15,12,300.
The accused was arrested in Bilada, Rajasthan. Defence counsel Rajesh Rajpurohit argued before the court that the drugs were seized from other individuals and not directly from the accused. Following this argument, the court granted bail to the accused.
The prosecution had opposed the bail, citing the accused's involvement in the drug supply chain, financial transactions, and previous criminal background. After hearing both sides, the court granted bail to the accused on a personal bond of ₹50,000 and one or more sureties of the same amount. The court also imposed other terms and conditions.
The case was registered at the Chinchwad Police Station. Various rulings from the Mumbai High Court and the Supreme Court were also referenced during the hearing. Preeti Dhule, Mahesh Markad, Rohit Gholap, Tanaya Jagdale, Pranil Chaudhary, and Vipul Pandey are also mentioned in connection with this case, but further details about their roles are not available.
