During Ganeshotsav, Visarjan procession routes witness massive crowds. To prevent traffic congestion on these routes and ensure the smooth movement of citizens, the entry of heavy vehicles, excluding essential services, was prohibited.
In Bhosari, the restricted routes included Dighi Road (Gangotri Park to Samvidhan Chowk), Alandi Road, Landewadi Chowk to Chandni Chowk, and the service roads on both sides of the highway. In Chinchwad, the routes from Chinchwad Station to Thergaon Ghat, the Link Road area, and Morya Gosavi Temple to Morya Ghat were under restrictions.
In Pimpri, the ban applied to Shagun Chowk, Sai Chowk, River Road, Deluxe Chowk to Kalewadi Bridge, Pimpri Chowk to Pimpri Bridge, as well as routes in the Sant Tukaram Nagar, Nehru Nagar, and Morwadi areas. Routes leading to Datta Mandir Road in Wakad and roads towards Sus Bridge were also included.
The traffic branch had appealed to motorists to use alternative routes during this period. Updated traffic-related information for the Ganeshotsav period was also published on the official website of the Pimpri-Chinchwad Police.
