According to the complaint, the accused employee was working as a gold loan officer at the company's Bhosari branch. It is alleged that he accepted cash payments from customers intended to close their gold loans, but failed to deposit the money into the company's account.
The FIR states that he used these funds for personal financial gain. The company claims that this misappropriation continued for nearly two and three-quarter years, from May 2023 to February 2026, causing a loss of more than Rs 35 lakh to the firm.
A Navi Mumbai-based representative of the company filed a complaint regarding the matter at the Bhosari police station, following which a case was registered against the employee.
In light of such incidents, customers are advised to preferably use bank transfers or demand official receipts when closing gold loans, and to obtain written confirmation of the account closure. The allegations will be verified during the ongoing police investigation.
