Oil portraits of former Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar and late BJP MLA Laxman Jagtap have been installed at the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) building, News PCMC has reported. Both portraits are currently covered with red cloth due to the code of conduct in effect for the Pune graduate and teacher constituency elections. A formal unveiling of these portraits will take place after the code of conduct concludes.
The ruling BJP had passed a resolution in the general body meeting to install these portraits at prominent locations within the Municipal Corporation building. The PCMC's architecture department has completed the installation work. Ajit Pawar's portrait is located on the ground floor, on the way to the tax collection department, while Laxman Jagtap's portrait has been installed next to the staircase.
Artist Sunil Shegavkar painted both oil portraits. The portraits were installed on October 14, 2026, and their unveiling has been postponed due to the code of conduct.
