Pimpri-Chinchwad Police have taken action under the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) against an organised cybercrime gang. This gang defrauded a senior citizen of Rs 86 lakh by luring them into investing in a fake trading app, as reported by News PCMC. This marks the second MCOCA action taken by Pimpri-Chinchwad Police against cybercriminals in 2026.

Six suspects have been arrested in this case: Tejasvi Dnyanoba Lokhande, Avinash Dnyanoba Balgalikar, Harshal Dilip Bora, Sonu Harish Sharma, Alec alias Gaurav Ramesh Gadge, and Akhil Srinivasrao Nelluri. The fraudulent funds were transferred to various bank accounts and converted into virtual currency like USDT. It has also been revealed that the arrested individuals are connected to a prime suspect in Cambodia.
