A special drive is being conducted in Pune district with the aim of updating the voter list. As part of this initiative, special registration camps have been organized at all polling stations on October 17, 18, 24, and 25. Citizens can verify their names and other details at these camps, according to the Pune District Administration.
The main objective of this drive is to ensure the inclusion of all eligible voters in the electoral roll. Form 6 is available for new voter registration, Form 7 for deletion of names from the voter list or raising objections, and Form 8 for changes in residence, corrections, replacement of voter ID cards, or registration as a person with a disability. Citizens can submit their claims and objections until October 26.
For this process, 21 Electoral Registration Officers, 647 Assistant Electoral Registration Officers, and 8,424 Booth Level Officers (BLO) have been deployed. BLOs will assist citizens with new registrations and corrections. Citizens can apply for voter registration throughout the year.
According to Punekar News, the voter helpline number 1950 is available. Additionally, help desks are provided at the District Election Officer's office and the respective Electoral Registration Officer's offices. District-level helpline details are available on the website of the Chief Electoral Officer, Maharashtra.
October 1, 2026, is the qualifying date for voter list revision. The Election Commission has appointed the Pune Divisional Commissioner as the voter list observer. The observer will review the process in three stages: filing of claims and objections, their disposal, and the final publication of the voter list. Citizens can register complaints by contacting the National Grievance Redressal System (NGRS) portal or the District Call Center.
