The conference was jointly organized by the Rotary Club of Pune Camp and 20 other Rotary Clubs under Rotary District 3131. The main objective of this event was to raise awareness about millets, conserve indigenous cattle breeds, and facilitate dialogue between rural and urban communities.

Various activities were organized during the conference, including a Millet Prabhat Pheri (morning procession), cooking competitions, training sessions, poster competitions, expert lectures, panel discussions, Go-Pujan (cow worship), and felicitation of cow rearers. Millet-producing farmers, entrepreneurs, and cattle rearers from Pune, Mumbai, Nashik, Ahmednagar, Beed, Satara, Sangli, Kolhapur, and Solapur were present. Additionally, 500 students from 10 schools actively participated in exhibitions, poster competitions, and cultural programs.

During the event, District Governor Rtn. Nitin Dhamle proposed identifying farmers who are leaders in indigenous seed conservation and establishing a dedicated seed bank, Punekar News noted. Past District Governor Rtn. Santosh Marathe expressed his intention to make this movement more effective through Rotary. In the future, the 'Rotary Millet Village' pilot project will be launched in Bhor, Maval, Rajgurunagar, and Ambegaon talukas, which will promote millet entrepreneurship. Efforts will also be made to develop gaushalas as tourist destinations and encourage school students to visit them.
