To maintain public peace during the festive season, the Police Commissionerate had banned high-capacity DJ and Dolby sound systems in public places between September 9 and 26. Meetings were held with mandal presidents and workers, and written instructions were also issued in this regard.
On the 7th day, police noticed that some of the 90 mandals in the Sangvi limits had violated this order. Subsequently, 5 DJ mixers, 3 consoles, 1 light control machine, 3 laptops, speakers, and 1 DJ set were seized. A tractor-trolley was also among the seized items.
Police stated that the process of registering cases against the office-bearers of the concerned mandals, as well as the DJ owners and operators, is underway. The action was taken under the guidance of Commissioner of Police Vinaykumar Choubey and senior officials.
Deputy Commissioner of Police Sandeep Atole warned that if high-capacity sound systems are used in upcoming immersion processions, strict action will be taken without prior notice. The equipment will be seized, and the responsibility will lie with the mandal office-bearers and organizers.
