A burglary case registered at the Dighi police station has been solved, with the investigation revealing that the gold and silver jewellery reported stolen was actually hidden inside the house by the complainant's wife. Acting on the instructions of Commissioner of Police Vinay Kumar Choubey, a team from Crime Branch Unit-3 was conducting a parallel investigation into the case.
The team examined CCTV footage from around the crime scene and conducted a technical analysis of mobile phones. However, they found no concrete evidence of any outsider entering the building. Following inquiries with the neighbours, the team thoroughly questioned the complainant's wife.
During questioning, she admitted that her husband was planning to sell the gold and silver jewellery to buy a new house, so she hid the valuables inside the house to prevent them from being sold. The hidden jewellery was subsequently produced in the presence of panchas (witnesses) and seized by the police.
This action was carried out by Senior Police Inspector Santosh Kasbe and his team. Police Sub-Inspector Vare of the Dighi police station is conducting further investigation.
