The 'Jeevangatha' (Inspirational Biography) program was organized at Abhang English Medium School in Dehu on October 10, 2026. During this event, Dr. Shilpa Mapuskar provided a detailed introduction to the life and work of Padma Shri Dr. Suhas Mapuskar to students of classes 7 and 8, as reported by News PCMC. The main objective of this program was to connect students with inspiring personalities, instill positive thoughts, and encourage them to become responsible citizens.
In her address, Dr. Shilpa Mapuskar elaborated on the importance of cleanliness, health, environmental conservation, social responsibility, and service. She urged students to work with honesty and perfection, stating that honesty is the key to success. Dr. Mapuskar informed the students how her father, Dr. Suhas Mapuskar, inspired by Mahatma Gandhi's 'Antyodaya' concept, worked to provide healthcare to the last person in society.
She made citizens aware of their responsibilities, such as recycling waste, protecting the ecosystem, and adopting healthy habits. Emphasizing the importance of sensitivity and humanity in social service, she noted that saving lives is more important than money. She also informed the students about various initiatives used to raise awareness about health and hygiene, such as using folk arts like bhajans and street plays, and writing slogans on walls. The program was organized under the guidance of the school's secretary, principal, vice-principal, and program coordinators.
