The Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) has drafted a proposal for the development of an international-standard golf club in Moshi. According to News PCMC, this project aims to elevate the city's international profile. The plan involves changing the land use of ten reserved plots in Moshi to establish the golf club across a total area of 61.38 hectares.
This proposal will be presented before the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation's General Body meeting on October 15. If approved, the subsequent legal procedures will commence. These include inviting public objections and suggestions, and obtaining final approval from the state government under Section 37 of the Maharashtra Regional and Town Planning Act, 1966. The intention is to provide international-standard facilities, similar to the golf course in Yerwada, Pune.
Previously, PCMC Commissioner Dr. Vijay Suryawanshi had expressed a desire to develop a world-class golf club and a PCMC club as part of the city's 50-year development plan. Moshi is considered an ideal location for this project due to the presence of proposed or ongoing projects such as an International Convention Centre, IIM, Court, COEP, and the Pimpri-Chinchwad Police Commissionerate.
