A site inspection was conducted for the proposed Indian Institute of Management (IIM) campus in Moshi, with the aim of giving a new direction to Pimpri-Chinchwad's educational development. The inspection, held on Wednesday, July 7, included discussions on the terrain, infrastructure, administrative matters, and the institution's future development plans.
The Maharashtra government has approved the use of government land in Moshi for IIM Nagpur's academic and training campus. According to a Central Government notification in July 2026, there are plans to develop a full-capacity academic and residential campus on 70 acres of land in Moshi. BJP MLA Mahesh Landge is leading the efforts to establish the IIM campus in Moshi.
During the site inspection, discussions covered academic, research, and development projects, student facilities, infrastructure, and future administrative processes. It is expected that if Moshi is selected for the IIM Pune campus, it will significantly boost Pimpri-Chinchwad's educational ecosystem. IIM Nagpur had previously expressed the need for a location with good connectivity to industrial areas and the city for its Pune campus.
