The Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) has taken preventive steps at the property registration level to curb unauthorized constructions. According to News PCMC, information regarding unauthorized constructions will be provided to the Stamp and Registration Department.
This information will include survey numbers of properties located in red zones, buffer zones, green belts, blue and red river flood lines, as well as reserved areas and other restricted zones. The PCMC stated that this information will prevent the registration of buying and selling transactions for flats and commercial units within such unauthorized constructions.
The primary objective of this measure is to prevent financial fraud against citizens. According to the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation, citizens should avoid purchasing such unauthorized properties. This new approach was adopted because new constructions continued despite previous actions against unauthorized structures.
The municipal administration is coordinating with the Stamp and Registration Department to implement this measure. This new system will come into effect from October 7, 2026, making it possible to curb unauthorized constructions at an early stage.
