Pimpri, October 12, 2026, around 12:45 PM, a rickshaw driver was attacked at the Ambedkar Chowk rickshaw stand on the Old Mumbai-Pune Highway in Pimpri, following a dispute over a rickshaw seat. Vishal alias Anna Dilip Dhotre (38, Pimpri resident) has filed a complaint at the Pimpri Police Station regarding the incident.
According to information provided by the police, Vishal Dhotre is a rickshaw driver. The complaint states that Adnan Sharif Qureshi (25) and Mustafa alias Musa Sharif Qureshi (22, both residents of Khadki Bazar) attempted to attack Vishal Dhotre with an ice pick following a dispute over a rickshaw seat. When his friend, Kailas Hanumant Mhetre, tried to intervene, the accused also stabbed him in the chest with an ice pick.
Following the incident, Pimpri Police promptly registered a case against Adnan Sharif Qureshi and Mustafa alias Musa Sharif Qureshi under Indian Penal Code Section 307 (attempt to murder) and Criminal Law Amendment Act Sections 3, 7. Police Sub-Inspector Dalalwad is conducting further investigation.
