MLA Mahesh Landge has called for the immediate establishment of a separate septic operation theatre at Yashwantrao Chavan Memorial Hospital (YCM Hospital) in Pimpri for treating infectious wounds. News PCMC reported that he submitted a letter to Municipal Commissioner Dr. Vijay Suryawanshi regarding this matter on October 14, 2026.
Landge pointed out that currently, due to the absence of a separate septic operation theatre, patients with infectious wounds either have to be transferred to other hospitals or face delays in their treatment. This results in physical, mental, and financial distress for patients and their families. He stated that a separate septic operation theatre would enable surgeries for infectious, purulent, and severe wounds within the hospital, thereby ensuring infection control and patient safety.
Landge also requested the provision of necessary space, medical equipment, trained staff, and funds for this new facility. He urged for administrative and financial approval to commence this facility within a defined timeframe. Until then, he requested that safe alternative treatment options be made available for patients.
