Patrolling police received information on Sunday morning about an injured person lying in the premises of a residential society in Dehugaon. When the police reached the spot, the 31-year-old husband was found injured on the road, while his wife was found critically injured in a room on the second floor of the building.

Both were immediately rushed to a hospital; however, doctors declared the woman dead. After a post-mortem at YCM Hospital in Pimpri, the body was handed over to the relatives. The husband is undergoing treatment.

According to preliminary police information, the couple had been living on rent in the society for the past 4-5 months. They got married in December 2023. The husband worked at an IT company in Hinjawadi, while the wife was employed at a private company.

Investigations have revealed that the couple had differences over domestic issues for some time. Police primarily suspect that the husband attacked his wife during a dispute, inflicted injuries upon himself, and then jumped off the building.

Dehu Road police are investigating the case, and the exact cause and sequence of events will be clear once the probe is complete, officials said. These allegations remain unproven pending the investigation.
