According to the complaint, the dispute began when the complainant was passing through the Parvati School area in Kalewadi in his vehicle. He was intercepted and accused of slapping the brother of one of the suspects without any reason.
The complainant was then asked to come near D-Mart in Thergaon. Upon reaching the spot, one of the suspects hit him on the head with a metal bangle, the complaint states.
The others allegedly hurled abuses and assaulted him with kicks and punches, while one hit him on the back with a broken umbrella handle. Another youth also sustained a head injury during the incident.
A case has been registered against seven individuals at the Kalewadi police station, and further investigation is underway. These remain allegations until proven in court.
