Following the recent tragedy near the Nepal-China border, concerns were being expressed across the state regarding the safety of pilgrims on this route. Amidst this, the Patil and Bahirat families in Ravet received news that the 2 sisters were safe, and their return home brought an atmosphere of joy to the area.
Upon arriving at their maternal home, relatives, friends, and neighbours welcomed them in a traditional manner by performing aukshan. A ceremony featuring otibharan and padapujan was also held for the duo. Their sister-in-law, Rupali Patil, organised the event.
On this occasion, the 2 sisters shared their experiences from the yatra. They expressed that the journey through adverse weather, difficult roads, mountain ranges, and low oxygen levels could only be completed on the strength of firm willpower and faith.
Amidst the joy, the family also maintained social awareness. Attendees observed a 2-minute silence to pay tribute to the devotees who lost their lives in the Nepal tragedy.
