Mohan Nathusingh Rajput (44) died after his motorcycle was hit by an auto-rickshaw near the Chaphekar flyover in Chinchwad. The incident occurred on October 2, 2026. An FIR has been registered against the auto-rickshaw driver, Vikas Arjun Bansode (36), at the Chinchwad Police Station, and he has been arrested by the police.
According to information received, Mohan Nathusingh Rajput was travelling with his wife on a motorcycle from Nehrunagar towards Thergaon. Near the Chaphekar flyover, auto-rickshaw driver Vikas Arjun Bansode attempted to overtake their motorcycle and collided with it. Mohan Rajput sustained serious injuries in the collision, particularly to his head.
Following the accident, Mohan Rajput was immediately admitted to Aditya Birla Hospital. However, due to the severity of his condition, he was later shifted to Gunjkar Hospital in Chikhli. He succumbed to his injuries during treatment, sources said. Mohan Rajput's wife filed a complaint with the police after the incident.
According to the police, the accident occurred due to the negligent driving of auto-rickshaw driver Vikas Arjun Bansode. He has been booked under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and taken into custody by the police. Chinchwad Police are conducting further investigation.
