A project presentation meeting for organizations intending to collaborate with Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) secondary schools was postponed at the last minute. The meeting was scheduled to take place on October 6, from 11 AM to 2 PM, in the Standing Committee Hall of the administrative building. However, on the same day, at 9:21 AM, a message was circulated on a WhatsApp group stating that the meeting had been deferred due to the absence of education officials, according to Shabnam News.
Adinath Javir of Dnyaneshwari Sangam Foundation has raised serious questions regarding both the organization and the subsequent postponement of this meeting. As reported by Shabnam News, the Secondary Education Department had issued a letter concerning this meeting on September 28, 2026. However, Javir claims this letter was only shared on a WhatsApp group on the afternoon of October 5. He further alleged that some unlisted organizations were invited via WhatsApp message on the evening of October 5 for presentations scheduled for the following day.
Javir had previously lodged a written objection with the Municipal Commissioner. He sought information regarding which organizations received the September 28 letter, when and through what medium it was sent, along with details of its registration and dispatch records. He also questioned whether inviting unlisted organizations at the last minute via WhatsApp constitutes an official procedure. According to Shabnam News, Javir also inquired whether permission from the election authority was obtained for this meeting, given that the Graduate Constituency Code of Conduct was in effect.
Javir has demanded a written explanation detailing who, when, and by what order the decision to organize and postpone this meeting was made. He has also called for an inquiry into the matter and action against the officials found responsible. Javir suggested that selection criteria, evaluation methods, and committee information for future presentations should be announced in writing at least seven days in advance. Adinath Javir has warned that if a written response is not received, he will use the Right to Information Act to file a complaint with higher authorities. Meanwhile, the planned peaceful protest has been temporarily suspended.
