A tribute was paid to veteran actor and Padma Shri award recipient Nana Patekar at the Classical Marathi Language Week program, organized by the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) at Prof. Ramkrishna More Auditorium in Chinchwad. He had passed away in Goa on October 8, 2026, at the age of 77. On this occasion, dignitaries present offered floral tributes to his image.
Speaking at the event, Kiran Gaikwad, Uday Jarande, Ashish Mujumdar, Pratibha Munawat, Raju Mohan, Pravin Chabukswar, Varsha Jadhav, Ravindra Ovhal, Yogita Kothawade, Babita Gawande, V. R. Kumbhar, and Ganesh Lingade remembered Nana Patekar's work. They highlighted his significant contributions to Marathi and Hindi cinema, as well as theatre. It was also noted that Nana Patekar had received three National Film Awards.
Beyond the arts, Nana Patekar also made significant contributions to social work. His social service through the Naam Foundation was also praised. All dignitaries present expressed their sorrow at his demise and paid homage to his memory.
