The Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) is celebrating 'Abhijat Marathi Bhasha Saptah' from October 3 to October 9, 2026. As part of this week-long celebration, a musical-theatrical program titled 'Antarnad - A Journey to the Soul' was presented on October 3 at the Prof. Ramkrishna More Auditorium in Chinchwad, Shabnam News reported.
The program showcased various facets of Marathi folk culture, including devotional songs, folk music, Powada, Lavani, and Bharud. Traditional instruments such as Sanai, Halgi, and Sambal enhanced the performance. The program received an overwhelming response from the audience, with the auditorium completely packed.
The main objective of this program was to preserve and promote the Marathi language. 'Morya Theaters', 'Atharva Theater', and 'Asmita Yuva Manch, Pune' collaborated in organizing the event. Dignitaries such as Dr. Vijay Suryawanshi, Vikrant Bagade, Kiran Gaikwad, Sirajbhai, and Sankarshan Karhade performed their art in the program, according to Shabnam News.
Further events, including plays and a folk art festival, are scheduled for October 4. Throughout this week, efforts are being made to bring various aspects of Marathi language and culture to the audience.
