The Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) will operate over 600 special buses from the Pune division to accommodate the increased passenger traffic during the Diwali holidays, Pune News reported. These additional services will be available from the Pimpri-Chinchwad, Swargate, and Shivajinagar bus stands.
From the Pimpri-Chinchwad depot, more than 400 special buses will run towards Marathwada, Vidarbha, and Khandesh. Meanwhile, 200 additional buses will be available from the Swargate bus stand for Western Maharashtra and the Konkan region. Regular bus services will continue as usual.
MSRTC has arranged for bus parking and appointed officers to coordinate these services. Online reservations for these special buses are expected to commence within the next two days. Previously, additional buses for these areas were dispatched from the Khadki Cantonment area. However, the space in front of the Wakdewadi bus stand, which falls under the Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA), could not be secured.
