According to News PCMC, a man was attacked with a machete at a tea stall near Rose Icon Society, opposite HDFC Bank, on Kunal Icon Road in Pimple Saudagar. The incident occurred on the night of October 9, 2026. A case has been registered at Sangvi Police Station, and one accused has been arrested.
As per information received, a group of nine individuals, including Vijay Ratan Kolhe, Santosh alias Dadya Narwate, and Vishal Aaba More, formed an unlawful assembly. They verbally abused Yashwant Rajaram Suryawanshi and Apparao Mahadev Suryawanshi. Subsequently, they began assaulting them with wooden sticks. During the attack, Yashwant Rajaram Suryawanshi sustained severe injuries to his forehead from an iron machete.
The accused threatened to kill the victims. They also brandished weapons in the air, creating an atmosphere of terror in the area. The accused claimed to be local 'bhais,' instilling fear among residents. Following the incident, a complaint was filed at Sangvi Police Station on October 10, 2026. Police took action on October 12, 2026, arresting one accused.
Assistant Police Inspector Malgave is conducting further investigation into the matter. The accused have been booked under various sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Arms Act.
