The action was taken against Jai Maharashtra Mitra Mandal in Chandkhed and Shivtej Mitra Mandal in Ozarde. Police allege that both mandals breached public peace by playing loudspeakers above the prescribed limits.
During the Ganeshotsav period, the use of high-capacity DJs, Dolby systems, and noise-polluting equipment in public places was banned within the police commissionerate limits. Written instructions regarding this had already been given to the mandal office-bearers and DJ operators and owners.
Following the violation of rules, two cases were registered under the relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Maharashtra Police Act. 8 DJ speakers, 2 mixers, 2 amplifiers, and 1 vehicle were seized during the action.
The action was carried out under the guidance of Commissioner of Police Vinay Kumar Choubey and senior officials.
