Bhosari, Pimpri-Chinchwad: Mohammed Danish Abdul Majid Shaikh (45, Sector 12, Bhosari) has been arrested for allegedly obtaining a Maharashtra domicile certificate using forged documents and subsequently securing a PMRDA flat under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, News PCMC reported. Police stated that a 39-year-old woman and an agent named Irfan Shaikh from Kharalwadi are also involved in the case.
According to a complaint filed by Ashok Shivaji Bhogal (37), the incident occurred between May 21, 2021, and September 14, 2023, at the Vyaghragad Cooperative Housing Society in Bhosari. Mohammed Danish Shaikh, originally from Uttar Pradesh, is accused of creating a forged school leaving certificate from Dr. Zakir Hussain Urdu Junior College, Khadki, and a transfer certificate for his father, Abdul Majid Fasib, from Kalamb Nagar Parishad School in Dharashiv district. The complaint states that he used these forged documents to obtain a Maharashtra domicile certificate from the Haveli Tehsil office in 2021.
Police said that using this domicile certificate, Mohammed Danish Shaikh and his wife availed benefits under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. They obtained flat number 904 in building B/20 of the Vyaghragad Cooperative Housing Society through PMRDA. A case has been registered at the Bhosari MIDC Police Station, and Police Sub-Inspectors Maner and Misal are conducting further investigations.
