Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) Standing Committee Chairman Abhishek Barne on October 8, 2026, instructed the municipal administration to work swiftly on citizens' daily problems. He specifically told newly appointed engineers not to just work from the office, but to visit sites to understand the city's geographical conditions, ongoing projects, incomplete works, and the reasons behind stalled projects.
Barne directed all engineers to review citizens' issues and pending works within their respective jurisdictions. He clarified that no problem should remain unresolved and that necessary action on daily issues should not be halted, even with the election code of conduct in force. He also issued orders to address problems arising from the monsoon, such as potholes, damaged roads, drainage issues, clogged stormwater drains, maintenance of gardens, pruning of dangerous tree branches, and disrupted water supply.
Barne emphasised that citizens should be at the core of the municipal administration and that every engineer and official should regularly identify and act upon problems within their areas of responsibility. According to News PCMC, this effort aims to make administrative work more efficient by giving supreme priority to the interests of citizens.
