Police allege that a Ganesh mandal in the YCM Hospital area took out an immersion procession playing dhol, tasha, and a band in a silence zone without obtaining any official permission.
The complaint states that the musical instruments were played despite the likelihood of the loud noise causing distress to the hospital's patients. It also noted a violation of the prohibitory orders in effect from September 16 to 29.
Based on a complaint lodged by a constable at the Sant Tukaram Nagar police station, a case has been registered against the mandal's president, working president, vice-president, secretary, treasurer, and the owner of the band.
Police Sub-Inspectors Ganesh Atwe and Ajit Divate are conducting further investigations into the matter.
