A 41-year-old housewife residing at Sai Raj Residency in Navi Sangvi has been defrauded of over ₹21 lakh after being lured with promises of attractive returns on investments in the stock market and forex trading. According to News PCMC, the accused had assured a 10% monthly return.
Initially, the victim received small returns, which built her trust in the accused. Following this, she invested a total of ₹21,37,044. However, the accused subsequently stopped providing returns and did not refund the principal amount.
A case has been registered at Sangvi Police Station in connection with the incident. The accused include Bajrang Vilas Patil, Sarvesh Bajrang Patil, and a 44-year-old woman. Police Sub-Inspector Patil is conducting further investigation into the matter. The incident came to light on September 29, 2026.
