A complaint has been filed in Kalewadi, Pimpri-Chinchwad, regarding a female consultant being defrauded of ₹80.53 lakh. News PCMC reported that the accused perpetrated the fraud under the guise of purchasing a five-are residential plot in Rahatni and starting a construction business in partnership.
According to information received, the accused stated the total cost of the plot was ₹1.84 crore. The victim was enticed with the promise of paying half the amount and establishing a partnership firm named 'P.V. Developers'. The victim transferred money to the accused via RTGS, net banking, and IMPS. However, after receiving the money, the accused did not provide any documents for the plot.
When the victim demanded her money back, the accused issued cheques with insufficient funds and sent fake IMPS messages. Furthermore, the accused evaded returning the money by giving false promises of providing a flat and citing various excuses. Kalewadi Police have registered a case in this matter, and further investigation is underway. The complaint states that this incident occurred on October 8, 2026.
