For the Anant Chaturdashi Ganesh Visarjan, the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) has arranged artificial ponds, idol and nirmalya collection centres, medical teams, ambulances, fire brigade personnel, and lifeguards.

Out of the 49,803 idols collected or immersed during the first 10 days of Ganeshotsav, 10,170 idols were eco-friendly, while 39,633 idols were made of PoP, the municipal corporation informed.

The civic body has appealed to citizens to use the artificial ponds, deposit nirmalya at the collection centres instead of throwing it into water bodies, and cooperate with the administration during the immersion process.
