An unidentified individual died in a horrific accident at Bharat Mata Chowk in Moshi, on the Nashik-Pune Highway, in the early hours of the morning. The incident occurred around 3:30 AM on September 28, according to News PCMC. The accident happened when a speeding container truck struck a pedestrian who was crossing the road.
The deceased, an approximately 40 to 45-year-old male, has not yet been identified. He sustained severe injuries to his abdomen and hands, leading to his instantaneous death. The container was traveling from Bhosari towards Chakan.
A case has been registered at the MIDC Bhosari Police Station regarding this matter. Police Constable Machhindra Laxman Kokatre filed the complaint. Police have booked container driver Zeeshan Anwar Khan (age 33, resident of Moshi, originally from Jharkhand) for negligent driving. Police Sub-Inspectors Sakhare and Khadse are conducting further investigations into the case. A further decision on this matter is expected on September 29, 2026.
