Following complaints from citizens, Corporator Dr Kunda Bhise and Unnati Social Foundation founder Sanjay Bhise inspected the toilet. They questioned the contractor responsible for its maintenance about the facility being closed for 2 years.
The inspection revealed heaps of garbage accumulated in the toilet premises and the dilapidated state of the public facility.
Citizens also alleged the unauthorized use of the commercial spaces within the toilet building. It was brought to light that a tyre puncture repair business was operating out of a space reserved for an e-Seva Kendra.
Dr Bhise assured the citizens that the issue would be resolved soon with the cooperation of BJP city president and corporator Shatrughna Kate, as well as corporator Anita Kate.
