The Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation's (PCMC) Tax Assessment and Collection Department has collected a record ₹610.44 crore in property tax during the first half of the financial year 2026-27. This is the first time in the PCMC's history that such a significant tax collection has been achieved in the first half of a financial year. This amount is ₹6.62 crore higher than the collection recorded by the end of September last year, according to Sachin Pawar.

The PCMC has a total of 7.66 lakh registered property owners. Of these, 5.09 lakh (66.47%) property owners have paid their taxes. Many citizens availed various tax concessions. Citizens have prioritized online tax payments, with 4.45 lakh property owners paying ₹471.83 crore online.

Considering zone-wise collections, Wakad zone recorded the highest collection of ₹84.91 crore. This was followed by Thergaon with ₹53.15 crore, Kaspate Wasti with ₹45.19 crore, Kiwale with ₹44.91 crore, Pimpri Nagar with ₹44.99 crore, and Chikhli with ₹44.61 crore. The lowest collection was from Talawade zone, at ₹11.99 crore.

A review of property tax collections in the first half over the past four years shows a consistent increase: ₹590.60 crore in 2023-24, ₹512.62 crore in 2024-25, ₹603.82 crore in 2025-26, and ₹610.44 crore in 2026-27. By property type, residential property owners made the highest number of payments, totaling 4.51 lakh. Non-residential property owners made 40,197 payments, mixed-use property owners 10,044, industrial property owners 3,667, and open plot property owners 3,489 payments.
