Various cleanliness initiatives were undertaken on October 1, 2026, across the Pune Division as part of the 'Swachhta Hi Seva – 2026' campaign, Punekar News reported. A 'Shramdaan' (voluntary labour) campaign was organized nationwide as part of this initiative.

At Pune railway station, railway officials, supervisors, and employees participated in one hour of Shramdaan. A cleanliness drive was conducted around the statue of Mahatma Gandhi and in the parking area. On this occasion, five sanitation workers who made significant contributions to cleanliness were felicitated. These included Rajesh Kumar Verma, Padmasingh Jadhav, A. K. Pathak, and Jitendra Singh.

Various cleanliness programs were also organized at other stations in the Pune Division. A health check-up camp for sanitation workers was held at Ahilyanagar station. At Kopargaon station, employees were distributed uniforms, PPE kits, and safety equipment. Additionally, a cleanliness awareness campaign was conducted at Chinchwad station, according to Punekar News. All these activities were part of 'Special Campaign 6.0'.
