According to the police, the incident took place at a construction site of a private engineering company in Phulenagar. The 25-year-old worker had climbed down into a pit to pump out accumulated water using an electric pump.
The complaint alleges that while he was inside the pit and before he could give any instructions, a colleague switched on the electric motor. As a result, the worker suffered a severe electric shock and died.
Based on the complaint lodged by a relative of the deceased worker, a case has been registered at the Bhosari police station.
Bhosari police are conducting further investigation.
