Vijay Koli was serving in the Pimpri-Chinchwad police force and was assigned to senior officers. Two days ago, he left his home due to family reasons. After realizing that he had taken his official weapon with him, the police immediately launched a search operation.
His last mobile location was traced to the Durgadevi Hill area in Nigdi. Consequently, a drone-assisted search operation was carried out in the vicinity; however, his whereabouts remained unknown for two days.
On Saturday morning, his body was found in the bus depot area at Transport Nagar. The police conducted a spot panchnama and initiated further proceedings. Although preliminary investigations point to a possible suicide, the exact cause of death will only become clear after the investigation.
The Pimpri-Chinchwad police force has expressed grief over the death of their colleague.
