As per the orders of the Pimpri-Chinchwad Police Commissioner, carrying arms and sharp weapons is prohibited in the city. Despite this, Nigdi police arrested two individuals, aged 20 and 21, after an iron koyta was found in their possession. A minor accompanying them was detained.
Scrap material consisting of a welded iron channel frame was found in the autorickshaw in the suspects' possession. As they could not provide a satisfactory explanation regarding the material, police suspect it to be stolen.
Police stated that one of the suspects, despite not having a driving license, attempted to flee by driving the autorickshaw recklessly and at high speed.
A case has been registered at the Nigdi police station based on a complaint lodged by a police constable, and a police sub-inspector is conducting further investigation.
