The Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) administration has taken a significant decision to effectively control the increasing unauthorized constructions and illegal stalls in the city. Accordingly, the working methods of beat inspectors will be changed, and they will be transferred every three months.
According to PCMC information, if beat inspectors are posted in the same area for a long time, local connections are formed. This can lead to the neglect of unauthorized constructions and illegal stalls. To address this issue, the Commissioner issued directives on September 29, 2026, to transfer beat inspectors every three months.
According to Additional Commissioners Dr. Vijay Suryawanshi and Trupti Sandbhor, it has come to the administration's notice that some inspectors do not take action against unauthorized constructions. This encourages illegal constructions in the city. The PCMC expects that this new decision will help in more impartially monitoring and taking strict action against unauthorized constructions. The administration states that this change will help curb unauthorized constructions in Pimpri-Chinchwad city.
