The procession for Ganesh immersion was heading towards the Pavaneshwar Temple. As it reached in front of the Indian Oil petrol pump, the decoration on the rear side of the Ganpati trolley suddenly began to shake.
Realizing the possibility of the decoration collapsing, the traffic police on duty immediately stopped the vehicles approaching from behind and moved pedestrians on the road to a safe distance.
Moments after the citizens were moved aside, the rear part of the decoration crashed onto the road. This averted potential casualties and damage to vehicles. Following the incident, the police cleared the material from the road and restored traffic.
According to information received, the decoration work on the trolley was done by a private decorator. A major accident was averted due to the prompt action of the traffic police.
