According to information provided by Pimpri-Chinchwad Police, a gold mangalsutra and pendant were stolen from an Ekvira Devi idol at a home in Ravet during the Gauri-Ganpati festival. A complaint regarding the incident was lodged at Shirgaon Parandwadi Police Station. As police began their investigation, suspicion grew against Gajra Satappa Kamble (45), a domestic worker at the house.
When police took Gajra Kamble into custody and interrogated her, she confessed to the theft. The stolen gold mangalsutra and pendant, weighing 30.546 grams and valued at ₹2,84,847, were recovered from her. This operation was conducted under the guidance of Police Commissioner Vinay Kumar Choube, Additional Commissioner Vasant Pardeshi, Deputy Commissioner Sandeep Doiphode, and Assistant Commissioner Vishal Dhume.
The investigation into this crime was carried out by a team comprising Police Inspector Devendra Chavan, Assistant Police Inspector Dr. Shashikant Mahavarkar, Police Sub-Inspector Sarang Avhad, along with police constables Basavaraj Teli, Shweta Khedkar, Pravin More, Prakash Parkhe, Kishor Girigosavi, Sachin Kachole, Prasad Jangilwad, Dilip Rathod, and Sagar Koli. The accused, Gajra Kamble, was presented in court and remanded to police custody. Shirgaon Parandwadi Police are conducting further investigations.
