As part of the Classical Marathi Language Week organized by the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC), a seminar on 'The Journey of the Marathi Language' was held on October 5, 2026, at the Acharya Atre Auditorium, Pimpri-Chinchwad. During this seminar, experts shed light on the rich history of the Marathi language and the growing need for its use in daily life.

Shrikant Chaugule presided over the seminar. Prakash Nirmal, Kailas Bhairat, Prof. Kalpana Kshirsagar, and Pradeep Kadam presented their views during the session. Speakers traced the journey of the Marathi language from ancient inscriptions and saint literature to its modern form. News PCMC stated that special emphasis was placed on the necessity of increasing its use in daily transactions, education, administration, and technology, especially after Marathi attained the status of a classical language.

The seminar also acknowledged the contribution of various dialects such as Malvani and Varhadi to the Marathi language's vocabulary. Furthermore, the need to effectively use digital media to reach the Marathi language to today's younger generation was underscored. This seminar provided significant direction for the preservation and promotion of the Marathi language.
