A case was registered at the MIDC Bhosari police station regarding the snatching of a gold mangalsutra from a woman's neck at night in Sector-4 of Moshi Pradhikaran. The Crime Branch Unit-3 was conducting a parallel investigation into the case.
The team scrutinised footage from around 100 CCTV cameras in the area over 10 days. Following a tip-off from an informant that the suspects were in the Adarshnagar area of Moshi, a raid was conducted at Sangharsh Colony, and 3 individuals were detained.
During interrogation, the suspects confessed to snatching the mangalsutra and stealing a two-wheeler from Kolvihire in Purandar taluka, police said. The mangalsutra and the two-wheeler were seized in the presence of witnesses.
The detained suspects are history-sheeters with cases registered against them at the Dighi, MIDC Bhosari, Chakan, and Wakad police stations, police added. The operation was carried out under the leadership of Senior Police Inspector Santosh Kasbe.
