The Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) has proposed to establish a solid waste processing plant at Reservation No. 221 in Chinchwad. This site is currently developed for sports use and houses an archery training center. The training center was established with funds from the late MLA Laxman Jagtap.
According to News PCMC, athletes have been receiving archery training at this ground for the past three years. The proposed project has created an atmosphere of concern among local residents and athletes due to its potential impact on sports facilities. The area surrounding the site includes two temples, a PCMC swimming pool, a gurukul, a school, and a public garden.
This proposal has become a topic of local discussion. Deliberations are underway regarding the selection of the waste processing plant site and its potential impact on the surrounding religious, educational, sports, and civic amenities. All eyes are on what decision the Municipal Corporation will make regarding this proposal in the future.
