Sangvi: A 44-year-old woman from Old Sangvi has alleged that she was cheated of ₹2,22,474 by a person who posed as an HDFC Bank employee and promised to help her foreclose a car loan.
According to the complaint, the alleged incident took place between March 2025 and September 29, 2026. The complainant alleged that Shrutik Sadanand Kasare, a resident of Badlapur in Thane district, contacted her over the phone and claimed to be working at HDFC Bank’s Bund Garden branch.
The accused allegedly told her that he could help complete the car loan foreclosure process and gained her confidence. She was then asked to transfer money to different accounts from time to time.
The complainant stated that she transferred a total of ₹2,22,474, but the car loan was not foreclosed. She also alleged that despite repeated attempts to recover the money, the amount was not returned.
She later approached Sangvi Police Station and lodged a complaint. Police have registered a case and further investigation is underway.
