A complaint has been filed against Dr. Rajendra Namdev Wable, Dean of Yashwantrao Chavan Memorial (YCM) Hospital in Pimpri-Chinchwad, by a former assistant professor. According to the complaint, Dr. Wable allegedly used casteist slurs and insulted the complainant. News PCMC reports that this incident occurred on August 10 during a discussion regarding an experience certificate.
A case has been registered at Sant Tukaramnagar Police Station. The charges have been filed under Section 352 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and relevant sections of the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act. The complaint also states that other individuals and patients were present in the hospital at the time of the incident.
Previously, the complainant, a former assistant professor, had disputes with the hospital administration over service-related matters. These issues included joining duties, absenteeism, departmental inquiries, and termination of service. News PCMC stated that the alleged incident occurred against this backdrop, during a discussion about the experience certificate.
Assistant Commissioner of Police Manisha Kadam is investigating the matter. The police have initiated an inquiry into these allegations. Further details regarding the case are not currently available.
