The Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation's Slum Eradication and Rehabilitation Department is receiving a good response to its online facility for service tax collection, according to Shabnam News. In the first half of the current financial year, from April 1, 2026, to September 30, 2026, a total of ₹26,15,271 in service tax has been collected. Of this, ₹12,49,762 was collected through 422 online receipts, with a total of 831 receipts contributing to the collection through both online and offline methods.

According to Shabnam News, slum residents have responded positively to the online facility. This has made the tax payment process easier and is saving citizens time. The Municipal Corporation is providing various facilities to make the service tax payment process simple and transparent for citizens. Women's self-help groups are distributing service tax bills and raising awareness, which also provides them with employment opportunities.

According to previous financial year data, ₹25,37,248 was collected in the financial year 2022-23, ₹25,27,388 in 2023-24, and ₹10,14,967 in 2024-25. Shabnam News reported that the Municipal Corporation is striving to make the collection process more efficient by expanding online facilities, raising awareness, and regularly checking for arrears.
